Cross-Section: Day Four
bricks, (red, white, yellow and black) flags, mobiles, (red, white, yellow and black) ribbon, rope, rubber, stools, sandbags, steel frames, timber blackboards, windsocks, woollen blanket
live performance by Katie Lee
Cross-Section was a live performance/sculpture in which I pushed, manoeuvred and displayed a series of sculptural objects in and around the grounds of the Abbotsford Convent over a 14 day period. Each day I used the buildings, trees, infrastructure and businesses as the context for the work. These gestures were recorded on video footage that I played back on four video monitors located around the site. This footage accumulated over the 14 day period, revealing past actions and interventions around the site.
